Wellness Champions

What is a Wellness Champion?
NC State Wellness Champions are university staff and faculty who advocate and help facilitate an innovative culture and environment of wellness in their college, unit, or department.
Wellness Champions volunteer to promote university-wide wellness initiatives by communicating health and wellness activities to their colleagues, encouraging staff and faculty participation and hosting wellness activities to promote holistic health and well-being.
New Wellness Champion applications are currently being accepted. Applications for the 2023-2024 academic year must be received by June 30, 2023 at 5 p.m.
Champion Requirements
In order to be eligible to be an NC State employee wellness champion, employees must meet the following criteria:
- SHRA, EHRA, EHRA-Faculty with greater than 0.749 FTE and have a 9-month contract/appt or greater with NC State.
- The employee must be in good standing with no active/pending disciplinary actions or documented disciplinary actions within the preceding 18 months.
- Receive approval from their supervisor and department head to participate.
- Be able to attend and complete the mandatory NC State employee wellness champion training.
- Be committed to being an NC State Employee Wellness Champion for the academic year.
