Free Expression Tunnel

Mary Yarbrough Court is a quiet, shady escape named after the first woman to complete a graduate program at NC State. You can find the court, and its gardens, behind Holladay Hall on North Campus, within view of the Memorial Belltower.

Schenck Forest

Sitting on 245 acres of land, Schenck Forest is a unique site that benefits NC State students, faculty and staff as well as the broader Raleigh community. The forest provides outdoor laboratories for students and faculty, publicly accessible trails, an arboretum and 50 acres of dedicated hardwood preservation. It’s located about 10 minutes from NC State’s campus.

WellRec maintains the university’s challenge course, climbing center and hosts a variety of trips throughout the year. The center and gym also rents out equipment to the campus community. Mobile Crisis response provides an immediate evaluation, triage and access to acute MH/DD/SA services, treatment and supports. These services include immediate telephonic response to assess the crisis and determine the risk, mental status, medical stability and appropriate response.

On-Call Services

The Counseling Center provides 24/7 crisis support to any student in need, and our clinicians work to ensure all students are supported, assessed and provided resources. After hours and on weekends and holidays, our crisis services are shifted to ProtoCall, a contracted service that provides telephonic counseling by licensed clinicians to any student in need.
